About Ink Raven

A platform built from the conviction that great stories shouldn't depend on everyone being free on Thursday night.

Our Mission

Tabletop roleplaying is one of the most powerful forms of collaborative storytelling. But the traditional format demands something increasingly rare: four or more people, in the same place, at the same time, on a regular schedule.

Ink Raven is built on a different premise. The best stories unfold when players have the space to think, write, and respond on their own terms. A full party trading posts throughout the week. A duo weaving an intricate narrative. A solo player journaling through a world of their own creation.

Our Story

Ink Raven started with a familiar problem: campaigns that couldn't survive real life. Groups scattered across time zones. Sessions canceled more often than played.

Play-by-post solved the scheduling problem. Flexible, persistent, and centered on writing. But the tools hadn't caught up. Discord works for real-time chat, not structured long-form play. Forums offer the format but lack dice systems, character management, and the game-specific features that make running a campaign sustainable.

Ink Raven exists to close that gap. Designed specifically for play-by-post, it brings dice, narrative, characters, and game management into a single space built around how play-by-post games actually run. And the format turned out to have more range than expected. Solo journaling, duo campaigns, and small groups all thrive here, not just the traditional five-player party.

Our Values

Writing Deserves Better Tools

Play-by-post is a writing medium. Every feature in Ink Raven is designed to support the craft: rich formatting, character voice switching, and the space to compose thoughtful posts instead of rushing through a time slot.

Purpose-Built for Play-by-Post

Discord is a chat app. Forums are general discussion boards. Neither was designed to run a tabletop campaign. Ink Raven is built from the ground up for play-by-post, with dice, characters, and narrative tools that work together instead of apart.

Every Table Size Matters

Full parties, duos, and solo players all deserve first-class support. Ink Raven works just as well for a GM and one player, or a solo journaler, as it does for a full group.

Shaped by Play

Features are driven by actual play experience, not feature checklists. The best ideas come from sitting at the table and noticing what's missing.
